Dial H for Hodds and Hends

I wish I had new heroes for you this week, but before we get to the first true Dial H for Hero title ever, we've got a few cameos to take stock of in 2000 and 2001. The first is from Superman/Batman: World's Funnest, which features a scene on the Monitor's satellite during the Crisis on Infinite Earths, with the original Red Tornado pranking Robby Reed.
We never knew he was there!

Then in Young Justice #22, Impulse tries to give a powerless Superboy new powers using whatever origin story he can get his hands on. Could Kon-El have become the next Dial H for Hero?
The plan is abandoned, so we'll never see Connor with 'mazing Man's helmet, nor what looks like Hero's belt buckle design for the Dial, which used to be Vicki's pendant Dial, right?

Speaking of Vicki Grant, she appears in Wonder Woman #175, in which Circe has an all-villainess army squaring off against Diana's all-heroine army (with most of the men turned into manimals). Well, writer Phil Jimenez goes for broke finding some obscure characters to put in the story, and with her track record, Vicki could have fallen in either camp. Except she was cured of having Dialed V for Villain in Superboy and the Ravers #13, right?
Wrong. I guess Mr. Jimenez either didn't read that story, or chose to ignore it. Vicki has fallen off the wagon and is back to being a villain (definitely not enough in this one panel to do the usual write-up). From the belt design, it looks like she might have gotten her hands on the buckle Dial again and started the whole cycle over. It's her last appearance, so no way to know how things turned out...

Next: H-E-R-O begins!
