Krypto #62: Red K Chaperone

From: Action Comics #330 (November 1965)

When Superman bited off more than he can chew when exposed to behavior-changing Red K, he can always count on his best canine friend to keep watch and make sure he doesn't go too far. Case in point "The Strange 'S' Spell on Superman!", in which Red Kryptonite makes Superman powerless against the need to steal things that start with the letter "S" and give them to the poor. They can't all be winners, folks.

When a band of crooks realize what's going on, they dress as bums and suggest S-loot, but Supes can be a bit of a troll, and he initially brings things that are't very useful to criminals, like foSSilized Sea Serpents and Straw Stacks.
Krypto's task is to make sure Superman doesn't actually "steal", but after getting a giant Scoop of Snow, the crooks start getting smarter with their Suggestions. Krypto's unable to stop his master from getting a gold Satellite, but he'll be damned if he lets the baddies get their hands on his Secret identity!
While Superman flies around the world to get records that prove he's really Clark Kent, Krypto goes to the Fortress of Solitude and gets a box with a distinctive label.
He gives the crooks what they want, and when Superman returns with Ma Kent's scrapbook and such, they've gone. And finally the Red K's effects pass. Now to collar the crooks.
And so it was that these unScupulouS Souls opened a knockout gaS trap left in full view inside the Fortress in case Lex Luthor would show up unannounced.
Thanks to Krypto, Superman's Secret identity was Saved. Again.

"No friend of mine would ever try to unseal this and learn my secret."

I guess that shows how he feels about Lois.
